The shell and tube exchanger is a kind of heat exchanger that widely applied for chemical and alcohol production, usually have Tube-shell horizontal heat exchanger and fixed tube-plate type. Tube-shell heat exchanger is mainly composed of the shell, tube sheet, heat exchanging tube, sealing head, baffle plate, etc.; Fixed tube plate heat exchanger is composed of tube box, shell, tube sheet, tube and other parts. It has a compact structure, many rows of tubes, a larger area under the same diameter, and simple manufacturing. The structural feature of the fixed tube sheet heat exchanger is that the tube bundle is set in the shell. The tube bundle is fixed on the tube plate by welding or expansion at both ends, and the tube plate at both ends is directly welded to the shell. The inlet and outlet pipes are directly welded to the shell, the outer circumference of the tube plate and the head flange are fastened by bolts, the inlet and outlet pipes of the tube pass are directly welded to the head, and a few baffle plates are set in the tube bundle according to the tube length. The tube pass of this heat exchanger can be divided into any number of passes with a partition. Heat exchangers can be divided into: fixed tube plate heat exchanger, floating head heat exchanger; U-shaped tube heat exchanger; stuffing box heat exchanger.

During the heat exchanger, a king of fluid enters from the tube connection of the sealing head, flows in the tube and exits from the other tube connection of the shell and exits from the other tube connection of the shell, which is called shell pass. 
Shell and tube heat exchanger belongs to petrochemical equipment, is composed of a tube box, a shell and a tube bundle, and so on. The U shaped tube heat exchanger has only one tube plate, and both ends of the pipe are fixed on the same pipe plate. In addition, in order to make up for the reduction of the pipe wall of the elbow, the straight pipe part of the wall thickness of the pipe. This affected the use of the occasion, it is only suitable for pipe shell wall temperature difference is larger, or the shell side of the medium is easy to scale and the pipe is clean and not easy to scale, high temperature, high pressure, corrosion of the situation.
